Mrs. Ajisafe gave up the ghost few days after she went into coma. Her death made Mr. Ajisafe go into depression. He could not go to the forest to hunt because he felt guilty. He thought about the moments he spent with his wife and realized that he was not able to express his love to her.
Ademide’s scholarship program was cancelled due to bad grades; Dotun introduced her to someone who was willing to sponsor her education.

Ademide had lived a reckless life before she got pregnant. She made lots of friends and she was one of the hottest girls in the University. She met a new guy whose name was Lanre. Lanre was a well-built man, he had charisma, he was a lady’s man, and he was very good in sweeping women off their feet.
Ademide felt Lanre was her heaven made husband and she was head over heels for him. Lanre took great care of Ademide; she was always hanging out with Lanre and his friends. Lanre had surprised Mide on her twentieth birthday; he got clothes, bags and shoes for her. Lanre also organized a small birthday party for her whereby he invited few of their friends.
Dotun had tried to get Ademide’s attention; his relationship with Mide begun to deteriorate. She hardly stayed in the room he got for her at Modakeke and Dotun found it difficult to contact her. He asked few of her friends to know Mide’s whereabouts but he could not get valid information.
Ademide had been staying in Lanre’s apartment at Ife town hall and she hardly went for lectures. She started smoking cigarettes with her boyfriend (Lanre). She tried new things which are nothing to be proud of. Ademide informed Lanre about the pregnancy, he told her to abort it with some concoction. Ademide refused because she had heard about girls who lost their lives in the process. When Lanre noticed that Mide was not ready to abort the pregnancy, he sent her out of his house and denied the pregnancy immediately.
Ademide was heartbroken because she did not expect that from her boyfriend. She went back to the room Dotun rented for her. Dotun was at the verandah when he saw Mide with her load, he did not notice that she had been crying, he was happy to see her and ran to hug her. Ademide explained the mess she was into and she was surprised that Dotun never judged her. Dotun took care of her and he didn’t criticize her.

Mide was in the labor room seven months after she lost her mother. It was a difficult time for Mide in the labor room; she had a lot of cramping under her belly and it was much more intense. Every time a contraction would come, her lower back would slowly seize up. She felt her muscles twisting harder and harder until it became almost unbearable. She let out a loud cry as she tried pushing.
‘Push harder,’ the nurse demonstrated for her.
Ademide groaned and tried pushing harder which intensified the pain. After two hours in labor, she gave birth to a baby boy. Dotun had promised to be the father to her son. After fifteen minutes of the child birth, the new born baby gave up the ghost due to birth asphyxia along with congenital malformation.
Dotun made sure that he was available for Mide and he made sure that she was not lonely.
‘I am sorry for every pain I have caused you.’ Ademide’s eyes became teary.
‘Oh Mide, you have not done anything wrong.’ Dotun wiped her dropping tears with his thumb.
Ademide gave her life to Christ genuinely and she went to church for the first time in her life. She felt renewed and she felt peace. She moved closer to God and she shared her testimony with Dotun.
‘Dotun, I have something to tell you.’ Ademide knocked on his door.
‘You can come in.’ Dotun opened his door.
“‘I have a testimony,’ Ademide sat on a plastic chair. ‘I want to thank God for his grace and love.’ She smiled.
‘Yes, His love is overwhelming and never ending.’ Dotun sat on his foam and smiled.
‘I was lured and deflowered by my secondary school teacher at the age of sixteen, He was a Christian and he was part of the reasons why I disliked Christianity. Anytime I go to his house, he would preach to me and sleep with me.’ Ademide saddened.
‘Wow, what is his name?’ Dotun asked.
‘Mr. Ajifowora, he is late.’ She replied.
‘It is not everyone that claims to be of Christ that is of Christ, God know his people.’ Dotun hummed and engaged her in prayer with him.
